在 for location and progressive
Say where someone/something is, or mark an ongoing action.
Subject + 在 + Place | Subject + 在 + Verb
Location first
Learn Place 在 before progressive 在 + Verb.
我在家。猫在椅子上。
Do not use 是 for location.
Place frames
在……上/下/里/旁边 are common.
Ask with 在哪儿？
Answers can be short: 在这儿。
Progressive 在
他在吃饭。我在学习。
Context shows location vs progressive; both use 在.
Beginners can start with clear activity verbs.
Combining with time
Time still comes early: 我现在在家。
他下午在工作。
Keep the frame stable while swapping places/verbs.

Tips
- Do not use 是 for location.
- 在……上/下/里 are common place frames.
- Learn location 在 before stressing progressive 在.
- 哪儿 questions keep 在.
